Satsuma Miyagawa (Citrus unshiu Marcovitch), belonging to the Japanese clementine group, is a cultivar originally from Miyagawa Prefecture (Japan), introduced in Italy in the 1980s. It is an early citrus fruit, with ripening beginning as early as late September – October, well ahead of traditional clementines. It is distinguished by its flattened shape, green peel even at full maturity, bright orange pulp, sweetness, and low seed count.
Our organic satsuma is hand-harvested to prevent damage to its thin peel, graded for size and integrity, washed, and packed in crates. It requires no invasive post-harvest treatments, as the peel is easily removable and the fruit ready for consumption.
